How can you explain a trauma you can’t put words to?

How I Learned to Eat Myself: And Other Stories is an experimental short film that seeks to introduce you to the extremely subjective experience of one woman’s perspective on life. Blending the hyper surreal with the all too real, How I Learn to Eat Myself seeks to explore the complex territory that is being a woman and the triumph and trauma that it can cause. Mixing poetry, music, movement, and confessions, How I Learned to Eat Myself is a raw and evocative look at what it means to be a woman and person. Based on creator’s, Gelsey Beavers-Damron’s, real-life and experiences, dive into a front-row seat on one person’s view of womanhood and see how similar we all truly are and how our experiences, for better or worse, tend to mirror each other and society as a whole.
